For comfort! Yesterday, on a street just 6 miles from my home, a city worker found a plastic bag on the side of the road. He looked inside and found a pipe with both ends capped. Looking suspicious to him, he called 911. Sure enough, it was a pipe bomb! The bomb squad came out with their gear and robot and detonated it. They are doing tests now to determine what it contained, and who did this. Just unnerving really and too close to home. Tonight I watched United 93 on DVD. Very emotional but I feel the story needed to be told. I remember seeing the second plane hit the tower, and seeing that footage again in the movie renewed emotions in me from that day. Sometimes I hear myself asking, "Lord, what's wrong with us?" And I continually hear "
If my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves and pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then shall I hear from heaven, and forgive their sins, and heal their land" 2 Chronicles 7:14. Tonight I pray for all people who've lost loved ones from any type of violent, terrorist, or hateful act, and I pray for our homes, churches, cities, nation and the leadership in each place. We can never stop praying. Until then...
